Has anybody done this yet?

Has anyone retained their stock SOHC block, but swapped over to a 2.4L DOHC head and used an SRT turbo and IM for a custom, low compression turbo setup? This sounds really simple to me, and was wondering if it had been tried as a quick 2GN turbo solution.
I imagine it's a PITA on an NGC car, but what about an '02...like mine? :D

If you use your SOHC block, and an unmilled DOHC head, you will have slightly lower than 9.3 compression, I believe. And if you use a SOHC head, and a DOHC block, you will have slightly higher than 9.8 compression.

Right. I'm talking about using the stock SOHC block, just like in a 1st Gen Neon. Oh yeah, what about the PCMs? I guess I'd need one from an SRT to understand the CPS input from the intake (been soooo long since DOHC) cam.

1st gen neon was a 2.0L DOHC, not 2.4L. (Yes, I know Neons also came in SOHC 2.0L, so don't DUH me).

How about I duh you with an SRT head?

I'm thinking basically about an SRT top end. IM, turbo-manifold, IC and piping, PCM...all that crap. Probably just easier to get a Hahn kit, or SRT-SOHC turbo adapter, but....

In theory...
The 2.4 DOHC head is the same as the 2.0 DOHC head...
When it comes to the SRT though there are some minor changes, but I dont know what they are off the top of my head....
If your replacing a magnum head with a dohc, dont do it....
If your replacing a Non-Mag head thats a different story and your going to have to do some research on whats involved since its not covered that much.

I just have a plane-jane SOHC. I'm sure I'll just end up buying a Hahn system, but this seemed like a neat solution.
