im kinda rusty at searching and im trying to search for engines that will fit in the 00 neon. i know any engine can fit with enough money but like the most common engines swapped. 2.0 dohc/sohc 1st gen 2.4 stratus (how hard is this engine to put in) srt-4 engine what else do people swap? thats all i can think of off the top of my head, any links or info someone can help me with?

Heres all the swaps that i think are popular:

- SOHC block with DOHC head (perfect to fit the srt-4 turbo manif)

- 2.4L DOHC from stratus cirrus breeze and caravans

- 2.4L DOHC w/Turbo from Srt-4

N/A 2.4 DOHC stroked to 2.7 (around 250-300 WHP)

N/A 2.4 w/ Magnum SOHC head (not done yet but possible)

N/A stroked 2.7 w/ Magnum SOHC head (not done yet but possible)

turboed and stroked 2.7 DOHC (never done that i know of, but can you say power)

but all of these swaps have only been attempted once or twice or not at all...

So are you saying that the SOHC 2.0 head will fit on the 2.4 block? If so then this seems like the easiest motor swap available since most of the sensors are on the head.

the sohc head will bolt on but there are timeing belt issues that you would need to work out. search around neons.org for more info on that subject.

As far as i understand the 2.4 w/ dohc will swap right in and all you will need to do is splice the cam position sensor wireing (i think, but you'll have to do a little more searching to verify) as long as you have the correct block (w/ correct crank sensor location) for you year. also the intake mani will have to work with your hood, so you would not be able to use a pt intake mani that wraps over the top of the head.

turboed and stroked 2.7 DOHC
Wow, now that would be awesome...
