Is there a diffrence between the screaming demon or the msd coil pack? And what spark plugs do you find are the best to use

Uhhhh....
I have never heard of the "Screamin' Demon coil pack, and it probably doesn't even matter.. If you have less than 80k on your car and its running fine, why get another coilpack? (Unless you have major engine mods of course) I hear good things about the MSD, so I would go with that. As for spark plugs, I hear the NGK V-Powers (copper) are good, I have some in my car and they don't really do anything different as apposed to my old Champs...

the screamin demon has 40k volts output, msd has 36k output. really, the msd is good. you will not be disapointed.

wouldn't 40 k be better then 36 k?

from what I heard, yes and no...
Even though there is a 4k volt difference, there is more details to the coil pack than that...

i have a SD if you want it ill sell it to you for like 30 dollars plus shipping. has like 20,000 miles on it or so. still works great. i bought it when my stock coil pack went bad on me amd it worked great then too, but since i now have the srt swap id rather stick to the stock srt pack since i hear it is more durable to the heat produced by the turbo. as to the SD which ive heard cases of them melting from the turbo heat.

I've heard too many bad things about the SD coil packs and the gap that they suggest your gap your plugs at is insane. Some people have a lot of luck with them, some hate how the car runs afterwards. I'd personally go with the MSD coil pack but the MSD is pretty much a stock replacement, nothing too special.

I have the SD and have no problems so far. But i know there was a bad problem with the msd's causing missfires on the first gens, and they are the same pacs we use so i went with the sd pack. + price on ither SD or MSD is about $40 cheeper than a new stocker from Advanced.

I'm gapped at .44 with the OE coil pack and iridium plugs...

just get an OE replacement coilpack... I had a feeling that the screamin demon coilpack did nothing, so i bought an oem, went to the dyno, took first run with the demon coilpack then switched to an OE coilpack...i actually gained 1hp, go figure...
unless you're pushing serious power with aftermarket ignition system, getting anything above OEM is a waste of money

what about the msd you think that would be better then the oem. I had iradium they were good but started to wear out so i have to change them but well worth the money showed power when you put them in so i wanted to see if i could get more using the iradiums and a coil pack

not really, aftermarket coilpacks in general are a waste if you dont have lots of other mods....

MSD pack should be the same as the OEM I believe (just less expensive and looks cool

). Curious, how long did you have the Iridium plugs in before they started to wear?

the msd coil pack is not the same as oem, actually the msd puts out 36k volts whereas the stock oem coil pack puts out 40k volts.

So is the MSD going to give any HP or torque versus the OEM? I have a bolt-on modded engine:
(intake, headers, muffler, plugs, nology spark wires, ground kit, magnum camshaft)
I was going to get it since it is 60 bucks...
