Possable parts buy?

I was offered this the otherday...and I am curious tho know...coupled with a shaved & ported mag head and intake, would it add up to some decent numbers? Id shave the head enuff to bump to a 11-1 compression.

Best guess at whp? I kno its had to tell...but Im tryin to decide if its worth it to do that or go FI... I kno FI one can get gobs more power but NA is an art.

The theory is for every point of compression equals roughly 10hp gain, but thats not taking into consideration a 20overbore and the cam...

I would say that if you are building a short block with increased compression with ultimate power in mind the 400 is not the best cam. It might lead to detonation with too much cylinder pressure. A better choice might be one of the cranes such as the 14 or even bigger.

probably not enough overlap.

the 400 is only a mild step up. a crane 16 or 18 would probably be better at bleading off some cylinder pressure.

I'd take it, sell the 400 to a guy looking for a good street cam, and buy an 005 or bigger.
