painting engine bay "old school" theme

I have an SXT, so the valve cover and intake man. is plastic...could I paint the plastic parts, or would I have to get the RT v. cover and intake? Also, I'm thinking of sticking with the old-school theme under the hood, painting it Mopar orange. The things I'd paint would be the valve cover, intake manifold, and the cold-air intake piping...and somewhere I'd get a decal like the "340 SIX BARREL", but with it saying "2.0 SOHC"...probably on the intake piping. This is a picture of the motor of an AAR Cuda:

Think that would look good?

*looks at calendar with your car*

Hmm.... *looks back at post*

I don't think it'd look bad at all. I actually like the idea....

And you can paint the plastic. Just gotta make sure you use Hi-temp paint of some sort... and clean it damn good.

I say :thumbleft: to the idea!

Duplicolor makes a line of rattle can called Fusion. Its a plastic paint. I dont know about the tepm that those things reach....but Id think u could use a couple cotes of like white as a base then get the Hemi orang and spray over that.

:puke: .

Thats just my opinion... I dont like mix-n-match colors on cars.

I just like alot of black... and shiny things...

the fusion will peel in less then a few weeks.....go to you local auto store and get duplicolor high temp engine paint, ceramic based is the best but they dont make mopar orange, but you will be okay if you use the high temp primer and clear, just spray the regular orange in between

Well I'm going with the "AAR" theme...they never came with red or blue engines, so it's going to fit the theme...not sure if it will look though. I guess we'll see!
