Why not 2 air filters?

I've been considerng the idea of a 2 air filter setup. Unfortuntaely this would not be a dual TB setup, but just 2 filters for one TB.
Basically, I would need a Y piece that would attach to the stock TB and then a filter for each top piece of the Y.
I'm assuming there has to be a really good reason why this wouldnt' gain power, i just can't think of it.

your engine can only suck in so much air. doesnt matter how many filters you go on there. using 2 might give you a little better range of air for it to suck in, but i highly doubt it will be any compared to if you were just using one clean, good flowing filter.

i think it would look badass! however, wouldnt it create extra turbulence where both the pipes would come together to form the one that goes into the throttle body?

because of the bottleneck

Then add the Turbonator to deal with the turbulence and bottleneck.....

hmm...well, i think i'm gonna try it. I have to find a nice Y pipe somewhere and then we'll see how it goes.

PS -- I was joking about the Turbonator. Pure snake oil!
