CEL trown last night being PIA!!!

Post by Paralyzer » Wed Jan 17, 2007 7:04 pm

I threw a CEL last night code P0499 which is a NVLD code which is a fume filter for fuel
ok....
that I can take and bear with but also
when I threw the code....I had my stereo on and not loud....only on 20 out of 50.....and my amp and sub shuts off.....
and the car sputtered ike it wanted to die. then this morning I would hop onto vietnam blvd., and when I hit 60 it started sputtering more and more so I backed off to 55 and it drove just fine....

then I hit the exit to go to work and while going down the ramp it starting sputtering again
I don't know....that is what I wondered
how what gets me is this
that before the code threw......I was at half a tank where I put some in it the night before
then after the light...within 10 mintunes of normal driving it when down to a quarter of a tank...
and the car sputtered when I would hit 60mph on the way home from work so I had to drive 55 on vietnam....which almost got me killed due to everyone else doing 70
I am having someone look at it tomorrow to see what it is....
I talked to 4 different people about it and no one has any idea

i have electrical issue along with vaccum issues, along with drive terrain issues and it is starting to tick me off Image

didn't you just get your car repaired for an accident? take it back to the repair shop... make them fix it.

I bet ya its your feul pump. Depending on what kind of accident you had (other than it being a car accident), it could have shifted your fuel pump enough to possibly damage the unit. A new walboro only cost 100 bucks if that. Just my opinion since something extremely similair happened when I did my turbo set up and my feul line came loose from the pump itself.

as an update....I had multiple ground issues in the rear of the car. I had a pinched ECM wire due to impact and also I broke the a connector on the AC compressor so I still have to get that part fixed. But the grounds operated my fuel pump and NVLD cannister, which in return told the computer that it was not functioning....which it wasn't. But it is all fixed except the AC compressor, and I have found a couple of things the body shop didn't fix so I am going to take it back to them to get it right.
