SRT Fuel Rail on 2.0?
SRT Fuel Rail on 2.0?
Will an SRT fuel rail fit our 2.0's? I was looking around here and at the .org and couldn't find a denfinite answer. Found a good deal on an aftermarket SRT rail and thinking about using it for my turbo build. Anyone heard anything bad about Boomba rails?
if your gonna go turbo then your gonna need to upgrade the fuel injectors which would be good reason to go with the srt injectors which means that you wouldn't have any problems with a fuel rail thats for an SRT

Good, I don't have to dig cars out now
lol
Yah, injectors shouldn't really matter since SRT injectors work on the Neon so it should work both ways.

Only 03 and some early 04 rails had a return. The others were simply capped. If you look closely at one of the pics i put up you can see someone jerry rigged a nut onto the rail for a return. They removed the cap, welded a nut and then sealed it with JB weld.MoparNeonMan wrote:Where is the return line on the SRT rail? I know stock i on the end....
I tried repairing it just for the hell of it but whoever did the weld and glue did a nasty number on it. I don't think its worth repairing, even if i plan to give it away.

Dave, you don't need the rail. Especially since the stock rail already has a schrader valve in it, it's way easier to tap for a return line, or a pressure sender.
I would say you would have to be putting down 350 horses (at least) do be limited by the stock 2.0 fuel rail. Was there some other information that made it seem like you needed the SRT rail? Just curious....
Nothing that really made me think I needed the rail, just found a good deal on one and though it would be a good idea. It ended up someone beat me too it though. I'll make a new post in the project log area in alittle bit and have my plans in there, get some peoples advice and such. I'll probably be gather parts till winter and then do everything then.
I keep adding parts to my list as I browse. Probably a few things I don't really need. I also have no idea what kinda of power I'll be making once I get the setup up and going.
Also, something I really need to do is look into AN lines and valves and learn whats what and what things I'll need. I don't know a whole lot about them at the moment.
Heh, I'm also in class right now and I can't stand the teacher so this gives me something to do.
Oh and thanks for the information as well, I'll just looking to gather as much info before I start tearing into the motor. Now I'm in the Planning/Researching/Buying Parts Stage.

The rail would be handy if you were using a RRFPR and looking to make big power...over 350hp. With MegaSquirt, you'll tax quite a few other things that hold you back from making power before the fuel rail would not flow enough. Because with MS you can control the pulsewidth of the injectors. That in itself is what makes a big honking fuel rail pretty unnessesary.
And yes, this is turbo FAQ info for sure. And I haven't even gotten to FI yet. Dang.
Project Log is up!
