Ok so I pick up the new themostat housing it didn't come with gasket. Even tho everyone including the manager at the advance said it did. But whatever I aksed if they had a gasket and they looked and it didn't show a listing for what I call a normal gasket instead it called for an O-ring so I bought it the O-ring is white and thick and fits perfectly into the base of the housing where it attaches to the head. I want to make sure thats all I need. They didn't have a hayen manual and I don't have one either. Could someone check for me that all I need is this 5 dollar O-ring please.

Thank you. Also any qutore for the bolts would be great too.

ok i guess you could technically call it an o ring. but it has a grove in the center of it that the thermo will slip into. you pop that into the housing and it should stick out of the bottom of the filler neck a little bit that way when you squish it into the head it forms a seal... so you should be good to go... but damn... 5 bucks! Id call another parts store, you should be able to get both for heck 7 i would think!

13.00 for the housing and 5 for the whire O-ring with the grove.

Thank you jamie for putting me at easy about having the correct parts.

I only have 2 choices for places to get parts from locally and NAPA not open during my hours.
