im running the stck cam now, w/ cold ait intake, cat back, msd coil and wires, then a 50shot to top it off. now i have a mag head im putting on, buit im looking for a decent cam, ive been reading up on the comp 400 and it seems pretty good, i was also going too put on a aem adustable cam gear, now will this actually benifit me the cam gear? or should i run the stock and then get a ignion timing controller.. ?? what would be the better bang.?

Running the Comp 400 does not require a cam gear like the Crane cams, unless you deck the head. And the Comp 400 is the best street cam avalible for the magnum head. It's setup very well for the port designs.

if you're going to increase the compression and increase the rev limit then the crane 14 is the better choice. if you're going to stay within the stock r/t rev range and with less than 10.5:1 compression then the comp 400 is a better choice. fwiw i've been told that the neon motor prefers duration to lift. by reading the cam specs you'll see that the 400 has greater lift, but somewhat less duration while the opposite is true of the crane. long term the extra lift is harder on the valvetrain.
ooh...there's a glimmer of the dream left!!!
