Hey guys...
Im in northern new jersey. I am about to install a air conditioner compresser, my old one broke.
I was wondering if any of you guys have a hook-up out there for somewhere to charge my ac system? (In the NJ area)

I'm not sure about places that do it in your area, but they sell those DIY kits at AutoZone, etc... You could always try that unless you still need the system pressure checked...

Yea I saw the cans they sell with the gauge on it. They also sell the oil and leak detector stuff. I heard that the system needs to be evacuated and hooked up to the machine.
Its alreadys evacuated, I changed the lines and put in another a/c compressor from another neon. It had a lil bit of green liquid in there, leak detector stuff?
I just want to make sure I could use that stuff from Autozone or just get it professionlly recharged?

Stay away from the DIY kits. I know in the states you guys are allowed to actually buy genuine refrigerant, but some of the kits are sketchey. All kinds of additives meant for a quick fix, not a long term solution.

Have a tech drain the system, change the compressor yourself, then have them do the leak test and fill. You'll be provided with many years of reliable service after that.

I went ahead and got it charged at a gas station. He was really cool and did everything for me for $90.00. That was with evacuation, putting in the dye detector stuff and charging the system.
Now my car is nice and cold from the A/C.
Question... anyone know what temperature the A/C should be pushing out?

IIRC, it should be about 20* F cooler than outside temp. That would be the air right at the vent, not the temp of the interior.
