oil pan question

i'm going to drop my oil pan so i can get my stripped drain plug out, do i need to buy a gasket? or can i use something else to seal the pan when i put it back on?
Don't need to remove the pan to get it out. There's a thread around here somewhere about removing a stripped drain plug, I posted a link to a tool that will get it out. Probably cheaper than a gasket, and less time to boot.
