This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

power problems

Post by EVOneon2K » Sat Dec 08, 2007 7:47 pm

okay i had the car dyno'd and it put down 108hp and 117 lb.ft. at the wheels. if it matters its an auto. anyway at about 5000 rpm the power band fell off big time. now i don't have my o2 sensors hooked up due to the fact my car will not run with them hooked up at all it putters, stumbles, pings, and shuts off. i'm thinking the computer cause i was in an front end collision my mechanic told me the computer was probally damaged in the accident. if you unhook them the car runs fine hook e'm up and its a turd. can someone please give me some lead way i have no clue what it could be besides the pcm.

The o2 sensors/circuit may be shorted or grounding out. There should be a CEL or stored codes on your PCM. There is a sticky on here on how to get the codes and what they are.

Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.
