Yep, the motor is in, and cranks. Normal compression, forged NGC motor. Now I just have to figure out this MS2 thingie, and Grrtrude will be back on the road, making close to 3 BAR of boost. Yay, happy day.

No, not 3 bar of boost. 3 bar of pressure. Gotta account for the boost nature gives us...

Doesn't run yet. Having trouble getting the MS2 to read the crank position. I'll work on it more tonight...

Grrr!!! Engine was running great, and then the transmission seized up, locking the driver's front wheel and sending me into the ditch. I got it towed home, and now I have to pull the trans and replace it. So much for an OBX differential....

bummer. it seems like when things are all getting worked out issues like this have to come about. oh well, at least it isn't too bad.

so it was the obx that caused the problem, eh?

Sounds like it's time to find a T850 out of an SRT-4 and stick in it. With that much boost you'll be making enough power to need a stronger transaxle.

3 BAR of boost
You did say boost though....
You seized a T350? DAMN, did you run it out of fluid
The T350 is tested to support 165ft/lbs of TQ, thats why its behind a 2.0 that does not generate that much power....
Did you beef up the T350 at all?
What failed on the trani?
I'd understand if you broke something because of all the power your putting down, but in order to seize it you must have ran it low on fluid or overheated it.

It was a bad differential from what I can tell. It cracked from the output shaft bores to the bottom of the case. And seeing as I put 30ft/lb through it at most, it wasn't a power related failure.

NOT Cool.

Once word of this gets out on "The.Org", I don't think people will be so keen to buy the OBX anymore ......

I still have to pull it all apart and figure out where it broke. I also need to try and salvage the bell housing. It's a lot easier to find a good deal on any 3.55 trans than specifically a hydro trans. (I like the gear ratios in the 1st gen trans better anyway with 3rd and 4th being a little closer together.)
