Buy a cool air intake. You can buy them prefabed for your car. You may what to ask around on the forum and get some input on which ones very one seems to like. There are several at different price ranges.

Remove the resonator pipe from (the part in the bumper you are talking about), get a drop in filter (K&N), and take the lid off the box. You'll have your sound that way, and your minimal performance gains.

I have a CAI on my car, yeah it looks cool, and sounds an inkling beefier, but other than that, you won't gain much. All up to you.

I did mine like this:

No fuss, no muss, only had to make up a braket to mount the TB out of a piece of aluminum stock and drill a hole in the top of the K&N drop in for the air temp sensor. It gets plenty of cool air from under the car where the stock air box used to sit and I've still got the ram air set-up in place to feed it more air.

Yes, that is a cold air intake- the same one I have. However, refer to my post above.

Well, couldn't be too difficult. Just disconnect it from the airbox or you might even have to remove it, then pull it out.

its easier if you jack the front of the car up and remove the front driver side tire and pull it out from the bottom

^ That's actually probably a good idea. I guess I took mine out that way when putting in the CAI, I just don't remember.

You've gotta take a tire off? Jeez, mine just falls out if I take out a couple bolts.

No, not likely. But you can.

this is what I did, car sound awesome at high rpms and feels a tiny bit more responsive too.

That's the setup I "HAD" also, does not work to well though if you accidentally hit a water puddle in torrential rains and hydrolock the engine
But after stating that, I'm running the same setup again on my AMM manifold  Just got to be a little more careful now...
