Engine Code Question

Post by dbesade » Sun May 04, 2008 9:34 pm

Sorry not sure if this is the correct place..

Got 3 codes today not sure what to do with them:

P2074 MAF/MAP Sensor throttle position correlation at load

P0420 Catalyst efficiency below threshold

P1188 Manufacturer Control Fuel/Air Metering

Any suggestions.. this is for a 2005 SRT4... :banghead:

Okay did some searching:

the P2074 Code is from the AGP Wastegate on the car I'm gathering as I saw the red line was still hooked up... so I'm gathering thats the reason for that code. Research says this is fixed with a Stage 1 PCM.. or by putting the stock Wastegate back on it..

P1188 Manufacturer Control Fuel/Air Metering - did some searching on that and that seems to be the Engine Oil Temp sensor but the description above is from the OBDCII Reader... need some direction on this

P0420 - The research on this doesn't look positive.. most people have fixed this code by simply replacing the cat..

:slap: I should have done some more research first.. but the P1188 still is confusing me.. is it an A/F Metering issue OR a Engine Oil issue..

Thanks

welcome to the wonderful world of '05 SRT-4's. They love throwing codes.

Does the car have a cat, or just a downpipe? Either way, stage 1 will eliminate catalyst codes.

I think the 1188 is also related to the 2074, since you're overboosting, its running more fuel than it thinks it should be or something like that. I'm pretty sure Nate got that code with 2074 when we put his agp wga on.

Yeah it still has the cat.. I'm pretty sure the 1188 and 2074 are related. Its pushing 15lbs. Rather than "downgrade" to stock parts.. I'll probably just find a Stage 1 PCM or go buy one to resolve the code.

I guess my main concern was making sure the P1188 wasn't the EOT Sensor like found in the CEL Code List and was an a/f metering issue.

For the time being I'm assuming those 3 codes can be ignored?

I wouldn't worry about them.
