i did the search and looked for it but i cant find it....i was pretty sure i saw it on here one day....some guy re-routed the pcv system...i wanna do that to my car so it will help with the oil comsumption...i dont even know if it does help cause i cant find it...if any of you guys know what im talking about please help...my car drinks oil....and i hate that cause my piston rings will get all carboned up....so if anyone knows...please help! thanks!

There is a sticky in the How To section for the $20 catch can. I created it. You can use any catch can, and it doesn't need to be in the location that I put it.

I also "rerouted" it. I ran it through an ATF cooler out of a radiator. I mounted it in the cowl under the wipers. Basically to help cool the vapor so it would collect better in the catch can. I also mounted the PCV valve at the intake mani, so the catch can system wasn't under vacuum, incase it developed a leak. Polycarbonate bowls don't hold up - if you planned on using a filter/separator. The plastic develops cracks, and oil drains all over what's below. I used to have pics, but I think I lost them when my PC crashed.

Eh, I don't know if I'd call the amount of oil that ends up through the PCV valve "drinking" oil. You may have some other problems that you need to investigate. Do a compression test, check for leaks anywhere, etc.

The valve will mount to the intake by using a short piece of 3/8" vacuum tube. IIRC the threads on the valve are 3/8 npt. You just need a 3/8 pipe (female) to 3/8 compression fitting so you can plumb the catch can with 3/8 tubing from the valve cover/catch can /PCV.

the fitting out of the VC is an elbow 3/8 male pipe by 3/8 compression. This was just a "rough draft" as I had changed it before my car got totalled. I ended up using black plastic tubing instead of the copper into the intake mani. the OEM manifold is basically the same setup. At the moment my engine has all the OEM stuff back in place as I have to pass the Salvage Inspection. Don't need the Ohio State Patrol going on my ass!
