Side Exhaust

I really like the setup of the side exit exhaust on the srt 4 on 2004 edition of sport compact car. I know you guys are familiar with the article. Has the silver srt on it. My question is with that side exhaust, how did they get the tips so close to the bottom of the car? I say this because it has that lip that sticks way down thats welded together. Pinch points for jack supports. Sorry, I dont know the exact lingo for that area.

I want to do the same but im assuming they cut out the section of that lip were the exhaust comes out at... Am I correct? I already got a custome srt setup on it but im bored with the looks of it. I dont see to many neons rolling around with side exit exhaust im my area...

Looks like they cut the pinch weld and put a heat shield up there

I doubt they cut the pinch welds. I've seen both the maxfabb and exhaust depot see's on cars and neitherhad the pinch weld cut out. Both were hanging very close to the car. The maxfabb setup uses a hanger that bolts to a hole already in the body of the car.

If you do decide to do this, I wouldn't suggest buying a 3" srt exhaust. Its way too big for a 2.0na.
