So my engine has been making a funny sound lately. its on 02 SE with 105k Auto. Ive changed the Timing Belt and water pump.
Whenever I half to 3/4 throttle it makes a sort of gurgling sound. not really at all when I WOT. Kind of confusing... Anyone have any suggestions.

Lisle makes this really cool funnel. snap-on, mac, matco, cornwell, they all carry it on the trucks. you could probably find it at a parts store too though

that's what i use at work. you fill up the cooling system and fill the funnel like 1/2 way. then start the car and crank the heat. this allows all the passages including the heater to get filled. be sure to top off the funnel to 1/2 way the whole time. keep that up until the car's been at opperating temp for a good 5-10 min. make sure there's no bubbles coming up in the funnel still. then put the plug in the funnel and drop the left overs in the overflow bottle.
and like contagious said, the cap's another thing. a new one isn't gonna rape your wallet, but it wouldn't hurt to pressure test the cap. probably take it to a private shop, not a dealer. a private shop will probably do it for free. i know i would.
