yes i got that plastic shit, and i want to upgrade,i heard i could go with a 1gn neon air intake manifold (cast iron) i beleive, well i seen them but ther TB is like facing upword instead of facing the driver fender, and the manifold looks rounded shape.well hell long story short, doesnt lokk like it would fit.

can i get some good info on them and pics if you can so i know what this looks like.sorry if im asking for to much, really wanna upgrade through

from what ive read ur better off swapping to the magnum manifold from the r/t. it apparently isnt just a bolt on though ull need to do some extra work but thats one way to upgrade the manifold, if not u could always buy the indy manifold ( sold on modern) or if u can get amm to make u one (all motor mike) hes supposed to make a good one.

I have some pics of it not-installed in my progress thread. There should be a few pics around here of r/t engine bays too.

Cast iron? Really?

no, aluminum.

That's what I thought. Cast iron would just be dumb, not to mention it wouldn't work right with the 1st gens being 600 pounds lighter.

well what the hell, i was told it was cast iron.

aluminum sounds more like it,anyway.now could i pull this manifold off a r/t stratus?

No, they have a 2.7 V6 so that wont quite fit. The easyest solution would be to buy a ported 2gn intake from me they are $75+shipping way cheaper than any other manifold.

now whats a 2gn manifold, give me some info on that.

did you say ported? and it goes for a 2000 dodge neon 2.0L motor. pm me with that info.

So does the 1GN intake actually fit a 2GN SOHC? (with a new TB and intake of course). And if it does is it really any bigger? Also, anyone have more info on all motor mike? I don't really want to pay $500 for the indy, it wouldn't do me any good anyway.

All Motor Mike will build a custom intake manifold for you. A regular 1gn intake mani will not do anything for you, infact, I think it will reduce air flow.

Unfortunately, thats pretty much the only way to get ahold of him. Don't go making your wild claims over there like you did here Preston, you'll get eaten alive, and then permabanned. That means you can't make another account like you did here.

If you want, try to find a magnum intake, it's a bolt-on, and it's awesome.

Wow, thanks for the link. If nothing else, all the pictures are a ton of fun to look at! That 2GN SOHC header looks flippin sweet, the inlet looks a lot bigger than my plastic one. So for the magnum manifold, I can just bolt that on? There's no actuators or anything I have to rig up? I thought I read something about hooking up motors and stuff. Do you know how big the opening is on the magnum header?

I forget what the size of the oulet is on a magnum header, I'd imagine 2.25" or so. It uses the same flange as a regular catted downpipe (yours may be different since its a 2000). The magnum intake mani will bolt up, but yes it does have a set of actuators on the there that open up the 2nd set of runners. There are 2 things you can do about this.

You can either:
A) Leave them shut, it wont work the best for you, but it will still be a slight improvement
B) Remove them, or wire them to be open all the time. You lose maybe 2HP before 5K RPM's vs them working correctly, but its still an improvement over stock
C) You can buy a Apexi SAFC fuel controller with a VTEC actuator, a harlan window switch, or a zex window switch, and have them set to open above 5K RPM's

Here's two installer guides:

These were found in the How To section under "Engine"

I actually ended up buying mine on eBay. Same price as other vendors, so I might as well get another positive feedback rating.

Finally got around to installing the mag intake today. So sweet.

If I'm not worried about anything over 5k rpm would it be fine to just leave them shut?
