What is porting?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Porting when referring to an intake manifold, is when you open up the airways on the manifold. This helps get more air flowing through, which increases power. However, porting too much will have negative effects, so if you are looking into doing this, be careful.
