um yes?

No taking out your a/c will not give you hp. It weighs a good amount, and less weight is good (usually). If you live in an area where you don't need a/c (and your girlfriend won't leave you for it) go ahead and take it out.

you will feel a slight gain from a UDP as well. I would do that at the same time since you would be taking the belts off; however, you will need different belts since the udp is smaller than the stock pulley. If you have a huge sound system, or have huge electrical demands, you should not get a udp.

i have no ac as it is right now and the compressor is still hooked up but i do have a huge sound system i have 2 batterys and two 12" pioneer spl 6000 watt subs with 2 hifonics 4000 brutis's anyway why would it not be smart to get a udp?

The UDP won't let the alternator charge the same at idle like the stock crank pulley. So if you are pushing that much power w/ a sound system, you'd need an alternator ODP from Lorenzo on the other .org to compensate if you use an UDP. This way you'd still be pushing the same voltage.

Believe me, if you have TWO batteries, you'll need an overdrive pulley.

At night I'll be at a light and i'll idle at 600 rpms with my headlights on, and after about eight seconds the lights start to dim and the engine kicks up the idle to about 800 rpms! That's with my stock stereo off...

...although it could also be because I have a 10 lb. racing battery... :)
