1st gen TB bolts up to 2nd gen??

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

1st gen TB bolts up to 2nd gen??

Post by blackflame » Mon Aug 25, 2008 11:18 pm

Yeah, so I'm trying to find out if the 1st gen throttle body will bolt up directly to the 2nd gen. I found a 52mm throttle body from a 1st gen that I would like to use on my 2nd gen with a 49mm throttle body.

let me know.

thanks.

No a 1gn won't bolt up, and your 2gn is already 52 mm.
But you could do this: http://forum.2gn.org/viewtopic.php?t=14 ... ottle+body

thanks for the help guys. Can someone explain what the half shaft mod is? Never heard of it before. I read the How-to but it didn't explain what it was.

btw, just to make sure the 2nd gen MTX neons already have the 52mm TB? Which would still be better over the 60mm right?

The halfshaft is cutting the throttle shaft down to increase air flow, mainly at WOT. A 60mm is better for performance. And all 2gn TB's are 52mm. EDIT:(except SRT's)
