It should be a total bolt in, pretty much .... Unless I am missing something, I am sure someone will chime in......

So you are going to run it without the butterfly valves ?

uhhhh the throttle body.... what are you going to do about that?

Since that is a first gen. manifold the throttle body is facing upwards. On second gen manifolds the throttle body sicks out to the driver's side... i guess you could hook up the bellows tube to that first gen manifold and bend it at a 90 degree angle to your TB....iono...

actually... it doesn't seem like you'll have to bend the bellow's tube that much from the picture...

Don't worry guys, Don's going to be doing this at my house. I'm going to take off the plate with a mix of sawzall and motivation. I think all we'll need is a manifold gasket and then swap whatever pieces over to from the stock manifold.

I think invujerry pretty much has it covered. Looks like all that was done was the adapter plate welded on. May need to weld on some more tube for a good fit tho, or go with a 60 mm opening on it to take full advantage, if you upgrade the TB down the road.
But that's something for the two of you to work out... or could be done at a later time also.

that is definately a DOHC intake manifold. I heard (on another post) that you'd have to open up your intake ports on the block for it to work...

let me know how if it works out for you

That is in no way a DOHC intake manifold. I had it bolted up to my 1gn SOHC head, and it's from a 01-04 R/T mag head.

That's another mag intake that's forsale on 1gn.org

While it may look similiar, but if you seen a side view....
Plus the throttle opening is not angled on 1gn's it is straight up. IIRC it doesn't matter SOHC or D.

my mistake.

I could have sworn it looked like a first gen. DOHC manifold... but then i edited my first post because it looked like the throttle body position wasn't sticking straight up... made me rethink my statement.

The way the runners are shaped I can understand. From a dead on shot it looks a little similar.

I haven't ininstalled mine yet, but during research I think I remember soemthing about the intake bolts being too long or too short, so you can't reuse the stock ones. Apparently there is a mounting bracket that is a PITA as well. Since you have no butterflies you don't have to worry about that, but I would still check out the 2 threads in the "how to" section for any other tips to make the install go smooth.

What are you using for a bellows tube? I have an AEM CAI and I want to see if I can use a 45 degree coupler to attach mine, but I have my stock rubber bellows as a back up if need be.

I still need to get an RPM switch cause I have butterflies and a working actuator :thefinger: . I was going to wait to put it on with my mag head, but it looks like I wont get to the head/cam swap until after the new year, so I will probably go ahead with the intake in the not too distant future (that and hopefully a PC680 battery w/ mounting tray)
