help me out guys.

im not to sure what it is but its seems like a misfire and im not getting any dummy lights in the cluster. :banghead: it only happens once and a while but it seem like it only happens when i go and give it more gas...im going to say its either the cat because their is to much back pressure because im runnig the srt-4 exhaust or a sparky or its wire...it shouldnt be the wires becuase they arent even a year old..if anyone can tell me what to look for let me know because i need to get this fix so i can sell it and possibly get an srt-4 or an r/t..oh yeah if anyone knows of any decently priced r/t's in PA let me know also..thnx

Trouble codes don't show up when its cold out if the problem just happened. We had a Grand Am that was missing like crazy and we hooked the Genysis up to it and sure enough it was missing on all six cylinders, no check engine light. tech said it had to do with it being cold and it not being triggered or something.

Start wtih the cheapest, do plugs, wires, coil, cat. In that order.

If it's popping under acceleration it's the plug wires, coil, or plugs. I'd say in order of the most LIKELY culprit: 1) bad/arced wires, 2)new plugs are needed 3) a possible bad coil. Start by checking those.

My SRT was misfiring so I replaced the plugs and it kept doing it and had to replace the coil. It only gave me a check engine once

I would bet your coil is crapping out. Follow Allex's check and you will get it with one of the three

With PL/SRTs you need a HARD misfire for it to show up as a CEL. Most mild misfires will go undetected.

I can attest to this. I had a miss so bad that it deactivated my cruise. Replaced the wires and it was good. But never had a CEL.
