So last night i was driving home and i accelerated to get around a car moving slow in my lane, about 30 feet up the road my car gave a big jerk and stalled out. The car still have electrical power but didnt have any motor power. The car doesnt start at all now. I had a mechanic come to my house today and tell me 2 things. 1 I know the tensioner was bad but he told me to fix the tensioner, water pump(odviously), and the belt. He told mee that might not be the only problem. He also said that he might have to send the head to a machine shop to clean the head and MAYBE that would work. Total costs $1000 heh.

p0340(No cam signal at PCM No fuel sync)

I dont get why i would have a problem with the other things and not something with the fuel..? PLEASE HELP ASAP

Thank you

P0340 refers to the camshaft position sensor. It controls the injector timing. It basically lets the PCM know if your piston and valves are in the correct relationship to inject the fuel. (Intake stroke)
You are getting this code either because the sensor failed, or your cam is not turning when your crank is.
I don't think there is any way to test the sensor, but you can remove it and have someone turn the crank by hand with a socket/ratchet at the pulley, and watch to see if the cam is spinning at the end of the head. Or IIRC there is an access hole in the timing cover that can be removed to see if the cam sproket is moving.
