cam gear replacement info.

hey i have an 02 ACR and i bought an unorthodox cam gear. and i was curious that if i advance it maybe a couple degrees will it harm anything? or should i just put it on and leave it at stock??? thanx!

get it dyno tuned. What's the point of spending money on it andsetting it to stock.

When you bought the Cam gear it stated, "for best results It is recommend that you utilize a chassis dyno to tune your car."
The good thing is that you don't have a NGC 03+ so you don't have to worry if something goes wrong and it pulls your timing on your already retarded or advanced engine.
There was an article in sport compact a while ago that tested it on the first gen... they advanced the timing 2 degrees and squeezed out 1.5 hp....

as others mentioned, don't just dial it in and go...
it needs to be tuned properly. Also remember our engines are interference motors and if you play too much you have the chance of blowing the motor....
