Today my mechanic told me that two of my motor mounts are bad. Both of them are on the passenger side. How much are they to replace and how big of a job am I looking at?

those that JT advertised look good. Get those and fill them with solid motor mount inserts before you install them, or get the dog bone mounts.
Either way though you will experience more vibration. Especially idling with the A/C on i've been told.

the motor mounts are really easy to replace... if you're talking about the top and bottom... top one has 2 bolts holding it in... bottom have two bolts also. Take them of and switch them and bolt them back in. Takes maybe 10mins max after jacking up your car.

Yup, just don't forget to support the motor w/ a jack + a block of wood between the oil pan and jack when you take the lower motor mount off!

Holly triple post. Anyway Yes the vibration will go up but if you just stuff them its not bad. If it where me I would take them off and just fill them with silicone and you fix the problem for like 20 bucks.

They are oem parts, just for a real low price. I can't really prove their credibility but I can once I get what I ordered from them which should be here on Saturday...I wish I would have known about this site before I went to the dealer and paid like $75 for a new top one with the bolt and bracket...bastards! lol

very credible - excellent service - excellent parts - they carry name brand parts - Moog, AC Delco, Airtex, Spicer
I have ordered a ton from them
Additionally - I just replace my RH motor mounts from them - looks and fits just like OE
When replacing the upper mount - make sure to set the distance correctly - or you can get more vibration feeling.
I can get you the spec
I think it is 114 mm

I got some moog tie rod ends from them last year. They had the cheapest price at the time, shipped fast and never had a problem.

The correct distance is 119 mm, or 4.7 inches. This is very important if you're upgrading to filled/solid mounts or using inserts. Mine was off by .1 inches and it would rattle my teeth at idle with the a/c on. After re-adjusting correctly it's much better, still a little vibration, but nothing I can't live with.

ok. I checked the
www.rockauto.com site and they have the front right lower and the rear left upper but only for auto trans. My upper and lower passenger side mounts are bad. Will these work even though one of them is for an auto which I have a manual?

This is driving me nuts. I need the lower and upper motor mounts for the right side of the neon. I can only find the lower right on
www.rockauto.com. Can anyone tell me where to find the upper right mount?

What year is your neon? I just looked and they are both there the bottom one for roughly $17 and the upper for about $18...

yeah but it says upper left. the motor mount is on the right

That is all in perspective to where you stand from the car. Motor mounts are on the right side of the car when you are in it. they are on the left when you are standing in front of the car. That is the stock upper motor mount. Why it says left, Idk, could be a typo, but that is the correct motor mount. The only mount on the left side is the tranny mount when in the car that is...
Take a look at your stock upper one, it should look the same as the one in the picture on rockauto.

does it matter if it says auto trans for the mount since I have a manual

All directions are in relation to when you're sitting in the car.
Then again, I work in an industry where half the people have no idea what they're talking about. Maybe they're all like that...
