brass fitting on head

net to am position sensor there's a brass hex nut with a sensor oming off of it dose anyone know what this is ,it looks like the oil sending sensors but its on the driver side not the bottom of the blok? this is on an 05 sxt

i found out what it it is but i hae a new ? is there any other place to install a oil pressure gauge sending unit/?

Nope, you have to tee off of the existing port in the rear of the block. Or use some hydraulic line (grease gun hose, rated to 3000 psi)and make a manifold remotely mounted, like I did.

Sorry, don't have pics, but basically used an 18" grease gun hose from Autozone, and IIRC the hole in the oil galley is 3/8 NPT. So you need a 3/8 to 1/8 adapter for the hose to block connection. I routed the hose to the rear of the battery tray mount. I fabbed a block of aluminum into the manifold for the senders and hose to mount in. A couple of brass tees will work also. You just need the appropriate pipe adapters to fit your senders. For your '05 you will need to retain the OEM sender. The factory wiring does reach to the position behind the battery tray. It is a little tight but it works. Or you can splice in an extension, and mount it where you wish, as long as there is enough tubing to locate the manifold where you desire. 1/8 copper tubing can be used to extend the grease hose. the hose allows the movement and vibrations from the motor to be cancelled out thus eliminating worries of the copper tubing failing due to stress and fatigue. Just be sure to secure the connection point of the hose to tubing. Old school was to put a loop into the tubing to accomplish this, but I like a little added security.
I like this mod due to the fact the components are much easier to install and maintain than the tight area the oem unit is located in.
