Sounds like the TCM(Transmission control module) picked up a fault. You'll need the DRB-III tool to get the full fault code.

How do you reset a code to blank after fixing it?

I installed a new throttle body and forgot to plug in one sensor. t sent a code and now my check engine light comes on. It is code P0508.

I want to clear it

Any ideas

you can just disconnect the positive and step on the brake for about 10sec. so all the power is drained out of the car then reconect and should be cleared. or if in a big rush try to turn over the engine and that drains it in 1 sec.

For starters.....
I tried this last weekend and it kinda works but does not totally, I used a multi meter to test it...
The fastest result trying to clear codes over the weekend I tried was:
Disconnect the battery ground, turn the ignition on, hit the brake, wait 15sec and you should be fine....I tested this with a multi meter to make sure there was no voltage left and the best I could do was get it down to .01 volts.....

ok now for number 2:
After last weekend I came here to look up a code quick and this post does not have them all, so....

My 2001 R/T is now throwing code p 0140 and it is not listed.I am assuming its for an 02 and i am missing one since i hat a LTB Header and no cat.

The engine started ticking and a noise come the cams and i was thinking misfire but no code is thrown for that.

Any thoughts?

Your existing (upstream) is not switching, thus the "no activity" you are prolly not getting the bad catalyst code, because there is not a good signal from the upstream. Could be gong lean, and pinging. I would replace it, and go from there.

I was getting code P0301(M) CYLINDER #1 MISFIRE Misfire detected in cylinder #1 so I replaced my plugs and wires about 2 months ago and it fixed the problem. Then my downstread o2 sensor went bad I fixed that the other day and no check engine light for 4 days, now the check engine light is back on with the code P0301(M) CYLINDER #1 MISFIRE Misfire detected in cylinder #1. What can I do to fix this? I am tired of seeing it.

What kind of plugs and wires did you replace them with? Is your coil stock? How many miles are on it? Look at the # 1 plug...what is its condition? Are the spark plug tubes not fully seated causing oil to accumulate and keeping the plug from firing correctly?

duralast wires, and i cant remember the plugs off the top of my head i think they were autolite but not 100% sure. As far as I know the coil is stock. I was thinking of replacing that but wanted to get other opinions on it first. Everything is in correctly and the plug looks fine. Even when it was misfiring the first time it looked fine but I replaced them anyways to be on safe side.

FWIW, get a real brand of wires and switch to Champion plugs. Seriously. The Duralast brand is a crapshoot for quality and Autolite plugs are the worst thing to put into a Chrysler engine.

Beyond that, you will need to see if the coil is producing spark reliably to the #1 cylinder.

Champion copper plugs are your best bet. As far as wires go, The Blue Streak line of Standard is good, Bosch, BWD/Niehoff, etc.

I may be jaded here, but I don't trust places like Autozone/PepBoys/Advance for car parts. I would rather deal with an actual Auto Parts Store (Napa, APA, Federated, etc.) for parts. Leave the other guys for oil and chemicals.

Totally my opinion BTW.

How did this get pulled out of the sticky? Or did it just end up that way when they were linked? :-k

I think just Quicksilver's post was stickied and not the linked topics. I needs to fix that.
