i know nobody likes howell but.....

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

I heard that pacesetter exhaust systems were awful, rusting and such.

Pacesetter is known for being cheap... even in the Honda world.

You get what you pay for...do it right the first time :)

I got my Dynomax 2.5" cat back from JEGS for $149.95 (for my '97) 2 years ago (on sale).
A much nicer exhaust, imo, and there's no yellow on it either...

Looking at their website, the Dynomax will run you roughly the same $ as the Pacecrapper, but you'll be getting 10x the quality and sound.

Just scroll down to Mopar Cars, and it's the 3rd one in: http://www.jegs.com/p/Dynomax/744690/10002/-1

Also, check online for coupons, as you may be able to get it under $300.

Didn't see that one - got a link?

They have it for the 1gn, but I didn't see it for the '00-'05 2.0 cars.
They sell the Pacecrapper and the Thermal catbacks.

I would have something custom made before I buy a Pacesetter cat back. I had a PS header on my 1st gen and it was great for what it was but it could have been a whole lot better.

Agreed Slaw, you DON'T want the Pacesetter exhaust! :slap: . The headers are fairly good (I've owned 3 sets in various cars) but the exhaust is garbage. Get the Dynomax exhaust (though be warned it drones like a motherFer in ATX's around 70-80 mph! Don't say I didn't warn you  ), or go big and buy the Thermal.

I thought the pacesetter was 2.25", guess they make the 2.5" as well.

Trubendz has a 2.5" cat-back for about $350 shipped, but its aluminum. The stainless steel is little bit more. They use magnaflow mufflers so at least you know it's good quality.

Trubendz has the piping for $120 on ebay. Get that, then whatever muffler you want, and you're good to go.

Got a link/keywords? I can't get any results searching for "Trubendz" other than covergirl makeup. Searching for "neon exhaust" is far too broad, I would be dead before I found it.

You can either get just a tubing kit, tubing with a resonator, or exhausts with mufflers.
