PCM broken?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

get an afx race pcm for a 2000 without a skim and buy your self msd windows switch. It's for me the best way to make it work perfectly.

I am using the MSD but I'm stock with the same problem as you my afx/race pcm need a sentry key so I am running my 00 mtx pcm

Even though my car is a 2000... engine wise my car is a 2001.. So should I still get a 2000? And what about the rev limit and fuel ratios.. That's all r/t specific.. Also how much does that pcm run.. I would just need them to do a 2001 stock r/t pcm without the skim

The electronics and wiring in your car is a 2000..... STAY WITH A 2000 PCM.... you really don't have much of a choise.

Here's why.
Other year PCM's might allow the engine to start, but I have read that the 2000 model year "communicates" with the Dash Cluster (and other functions) differently from other model years..... so you might be able to start the engine using a 2001 PCM in a 2000, but your cluster probably won't work..... other functions might be affected as well.

The engine being a 2001 doesn't really matter, because it's the electronics that make it all work.

At least now, you'll have a better idea what to do, and how to handle this, moving forward.

well not all the wiring is 2000... I installed a 2001 engine bay harness to run the manifold, the cluster w/tach i bought off ebay... but thats what meant... the only orginal wiring is the dash... it has the rt engine harness and engine bay harness, hydro clutch and whatnot...

still go with the 2000?

also how much are they?

yes go with the 2000pcm, but correct me if I am wrong you'll have to take and afx race pcm because an 2.0l sohc is not pushing the same fuel in the injector or something like that so you will have a check engine.
