This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Degreaser, pressure washer, use a tarp for the electrical stuff.

The best way is to remove the engine & tranny then clean those components and then jump into the engine bay itself and clean it up.

But for most folks this is not practical. I have given up on trying to keep my engine bay clean considering my Neon is a daily driver. I do keep it reasonable but I'm not fanatical about it.

Really not nesscessary to remove the drive-train. Degreaser and a pressure washer and your in business. When pressure washing, make sure you get into all the small tight spots and up close!

or for a laugh just hook it up to a friends big dodge ram and dip the front into a pool filled with cleaning chemicals then take it out a dry it.

( yeah yeah yeah i know it would mess the engine up thats why i said for laughs, and it would be a stupid idea.)

Best Method IMO. I do it just like this, and my engine is clean enough to eat off of.
