coil pack?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

coil pack?

Post by sneakers O'toole » Sun Dec 07, 2008 3:58 pm

usually only when its damp or humid the car starts then shuts off straight away. no hard start or anything. if i give it some gas when i start it it'll stay running. i'm thinking maybe coil pack? or maybe fuel pump? it hasn't done it before now since sometime in the summer.

i thought i fixed the problem when i replaced my cam sensor 3 months ago :banghead: .

Could either be wires or coil. Open the hood and watch it in the dark. (I have found a few spark related "leaks" this way) Maybe mist some water on it with a spray bottle (engine off) to see if you can duplicate it, to rule out a random coincidental IAC problem.

Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.
