hey guys im gonna be tuning up my new car(new to me) so i would like to know what are the BEST things for the following components would be. also any info and tips u have would be great! im planning to tune up my:

Spark plugs
Spark plug wires
Oil
MTX oil
Antifreeze
Oil filter (i do not have mobile 1 oil filters near me)
Fuel system cleaner
Seafoam or Mopar intake cleaner

also what is your guys comments on Royal Purple? thinking of going that way for oils...

Spark plugs NGK copper plugs seem to be the favorite around here. (NGK V-Power)
Spark plug wiresAny name brand really, mopar, accel, crane, MSD, etc. i have heard the cheapies from autozone suck
Oil pick a 5w30 oil, if it has an SM rating on it, then its good.
MTX oil AMSOIL MTF or Redline MTL
Antifreeze since you have an 02, it should be pink, if so head to the dealer and get Mopar HOAT coolant
Oil filter (i do not have mobile 1 oil filters near me) purolator pure one are generally my pick
Fuel system cleaner over rated imo, but either one you listed below is commonly used here
Seafoam or Mopar intake cleaner

Royal Purple is a waste of money imo. If you want a synthetic oil pick one that is readily available at your local store. Pennzoil Platnum is good, as is Mobil 1 (although people have heard an increased amount of valvetrain noise with it), and castrol syntec, valvoline synpower, etc.

Spark plugs- ngk bkr6e (I think that's the part #)
Spark plug wires-- nology hot wires are best but pricey, granatelli and accel are good as well
Oil-- penzoil platinum, castrol full syn.,
MTX oil (ATF+4)-- mopar, amsoil
Oil filter-- I like bosch filters
Fuel system cleaner-- valvoline is a good one
Seafoam or Mopar intake cleaner-- not sure

AMSOIL FTMFW.

I'm using Mobil 1 motor oil right now, thinking about switching to AMSOIL since I can get a dealer discount.

Eventually I'll find the time to change out my MTX fluid for the AMSOIL stuff I've got sitting around.

I believe that royal purple is worth the money.


Me and my father ran out goat with mobile 1 synthetic for 3 months, we though yeah this synthetic oil is awesome. Then on the 4th month we changed it out to try some Rp (to see if it lived up to the hype), the motor ran a little smoother and the temperature went down by 7 degrees overall.

I don't under stand the hate on rp, it has been running smooth in my neon for 1 year so far, no problems, I will be changing all my fluids out some time this year for all rp products.
