Engine making ticking noise

Dont kno what it is . i think it may be the lifters. and if so what do i do

ya mine ticks as well, its just what it does, i asked that question when i started on this forum, turns out its just the engine

Mine ticks as well...

...and if you look at my oil analysis posted in this section there is nothing wrong with the engine that an oil analysis could show.

Ticking noises are typically from the lash adjusters.

The lash adjusters in the SOHC are known to get sticky and full of gunk. You can remove the rocker arms and squish the lash adjuster in a vise to free them up. A little penetrating oil will help too. Then they will pump up/down much better and reduce noise.

There was also a post about getting the correct spacing on the hold down clamps for the shafts reducing noise signifigantly. But IDK even where to serch for that. Worn guides will also add to the symphony under the cover. My engine is so much quieter after I had the exhaust guides replaced. It makes you nervous, because then you hear other noises. :shock:
