well just got done installing rear srt-4 section.too loud for my taste.need to get a resonator on it or somehting. what kind of resinator do i get and where do i install in on my exhaust like mid pipe close to the end of closes to where cat converter would be rite after the bend.

Option A:
Reinstall a quieter rear section.
Option B:
Remove the midsection from the cat, and the rear section. Cut the straight part off, with enough left at each end to mount a glass pack in it's place. Reinstall. IMO it is still to annoying, even with the GP. Still too ricey for me.
Option C:
Install turbo.

Get the Srt mid section that has two resonators and call it a day.

how about a stock resonator and a silencer?...

well how about 2 resonators one where the cat would go and one in the mid piping.
cause rite now it sounds like i have a muscle car and am running open headers.

With the Srt mid you would have the cat and 2 resonators

hmm ok.
where would be the easiest place to find a srt-4 mid section.

Thats the set up Im running right now and its not too bad I guess, You can check srtforums, or maybe ebay or craigslist.

see this is what i have a cat delete pipe and then exhaust pipe size is 2.5" and the srt-4 rear section = loud as hell. i mean maybe theres an air leak somewhere i didnt see or something. i guess ill double check tomorrow or something.
but im going to see if i can buy 2 resonators to install on the mid pipe and then also one where the stock cat would go so i guess 3.
will 3 resonators reduce the noise.

You got rid of your cat and muffler so it's gonna sound like a whale and a dolphin gettin it on there is no escaping it. Those two items quiet the exhaust down. It's gonna sound like an Srt without the turbo. FYI straight exhausts are loud.

how long are the stock resonators on the srt-4 mid section.

For all the resonators you are going to end up with as much/more turbulence in the exhaust as when you had the cat and muffler on there.
Not to mention $60 to $70 for resonators that could go towards buying a decent rear section, that would prolly sound better.
And unless you weld it, it is going to sag with just clamps. It might take a month, but it will sag.

QFT.

QFT???You can throw a single big resonator in the mid section for like $40-$50 tops?!?
If you use BAND clamps instead of MUFFLER clamps it'll stay up and not hang low.

I used tghe stock clamps and it agged like a mofo. I wasn't even lowered and would scrap on speed bumps. Its all welding up and sit nice in the tunnel now.

I've used band clamps and still had the pipes move. With out a cat he is going to need more than a 31" resonator.

I was using mopar band clamps and it still sagged. And you won't get it welded for that much unless you know a guy and even then. And even if the op had a resonator it will probably be too loud still. I'm not arguing just going from experience

Same here.

Last resonator I threw in I used muffler clamps and it sagged and thus scrapes on speed bumps. At this moment I don't care. Prior to that I used band clamps on the same size resonator and it didn't scrape one bit and was tucked up rather nice.
Oh yeah, I installed the last one for $42 Canadian, so like $30 us.

The longest distance you have in the mid pipe is 31" , so you will need to figure out what you can fit where the cat delete is. I would stick with the one in the mid section for strength, unless you can score an SRT mid section. But then you are going back to 2.25"
Since you already spent $ for 2.5" pipe (mid section), I would go with the ebay unit, and call it a day. Otherwise you will have done the front part of the exhaust for nothing. But it's your car, your $.

yeah i know what your saying.
im gonna call around to the exhaust shops in town later during work to see if they have any resinators so i wont have to get them off ebay.

Most parts stores carry them to.
Autozone, I believe has Thrush brand. If you go with a glass pack, try for a perforated core, instead of louvered. I think Walker (NAPA) has perforated. (Slightly better flow)

alrite. now would you be able to tell me how long the 2 resonators are on a regular srt-4 mid section. just wanting to know for reference.
