dual exhaust

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

I am not a big fan of R/T or SRT-4 exhaust tips on non R/T neons either. They hang too low for me.
Do you know if the muffler inlet is on the same side? If it is close enough in dimensions, I'm sure it could be made to work. Personally, I would just cut the tips off an R/T muffler and go with smaller ones, or plain pipe. The Camaro dual muffler from (IIRC)Magnaflow works well also.

bend over the rear axles?....

all you have to do is leave the stock pipeing and just change the actual muffler.

That will be way more trouble than it's worth. Nothing will line up, and the rear section will need to be modified pretty extensively, including hanger locations and the bends in the pipe. Buy an aftermarket dual rear section made for a Neon. There are several options.

No one said anything about single exhaust. Buy the correct dual exhaust for your car and you'll be good to go.

Didn't know you were out of the US. In that case, find a company in your country that sells parts. I know Canada has a decent tuning scene, I'm sure there are companies with Neon parts.

Camaro muffler FTW

Fits perfect and is much cheaper than a cat-back.
