well the other day i noticed my timing belt looked to be wet so i was like wtf and decided to touch it to see what the liquid was. upon touching the belt it moved side to side like when there is no tensioner on the car so i checked the slag on the belt and it was so loose that if i wanted to i could pull the belt of the cam gear with one finger. i was a block away from home so i idled the car home when i got home i checked it and it was fine really tight and no problems so i was puzzled. well i now noticed that some times itll be loose and sometimes itll be tight what could be the problem would the tensioner just be loose or broken any help would be appreciated thanks

I think the tensioner is the only part that could cause that, unless the belt stretched. How old is that tensioner?

whatever caused this, you should be very carefull and find/fix the problem before you bend your valves badly

do a compression test you can find out if the engine is bad.

how should the compression be like 150 all the way across right

If it was still running fine, and no CEL, then I doubt there has been any damage yet. I would just replace the tensioner and call it a day. IIRC NGC will throw a CEL if the cam timing is less than a tooth off.
P1345 Crankshaft Position (CKP)-Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation
That would be my guess.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix, must be a lot easier with no cover on there.
