people with side exhaust

so i went to my local muffler shop to see the $$ they would charge me for side exhaust, they said it cant be done. i know of a local srt4 with side exhaust and people on here with it done, so how is yours done ***pics***. thanks

so no muffler just a resonator? would that sound good? i heard of people using a cherry bomb muffler and then exhaust tube out the side...

A cherry bomb is technically not a true muffler, it's a glasspack resonator.

To answer your question: No, it won't sound great because it's just a resonator. The SRT-4 is a turbo 2.4 engine so the turbo decreases some of the noise produced by the engine (if that's what you want to call it). On our 2.0 naturally aspirated engines there's nothing to soak up the sound except a catalytic converter and a muffler. Resonators and glasspacks do the same thing, but look into a big one.

Either way it's custom work and if the shop doesn't want your money, go somewhere else!
