Knocking noise near UD Pully

Knocking noise near UD Pully

Hi All

Can someone help please...I have a 02 neon and always almost on a cold start, morning time, near where the under drive pully is
(I still cannot exactly say) as the noise is from that area, there is a knocking noise for about a minute and then it goes away...

The engine sounds fine, no error codes are thrown, its been happening for ages now...doesnt seem to be getting worse but its concerning....

any ideas

Mine just started doing that right before I hydrolocked. It could be piston slap (normal) or rod knock (bearings?). A safe bet would be to buy some rod bearings (30USD) and drop the oil pan and replace them.
