5 SPEED DOHC 2GN

ok so i have found a first gen dohc with a metal intake mani. and other first gen with a 5speed how can i make those to parts work on my 04 atx. i am really interested in the head i would think that it would bolt right up just needs to run ms right?? and as for the trans would i just swap bell housings and get all nessecary parts for it???

You would need a 2gn bell housing. And of course the related 2gn hardware to make the clutch work. Is the 1gn MTX the 3.55 or 3.94 ratio? If it is the 3.55, just use the whole 2gn unit.

MS should cure the NGC woes, but hopefully you won't ever need to get it emmision tested, as IDK how you will get it to pass. Unless you can use a 2.4 PCM to somehow slide by.

well were i live no need to pass emissions as i am running no cat now with the sensor kicked back alot. so are first and second gen blocks the same???

i really want to cuz the trany is in mint condition was my friends car and they only want 81 bucks for it. and 51 for the head and 31 for the 1st gn intake mani

Cut and weld. That is generally the solution used. Or send it as a core to AMM.

ok that works. thanks so if i still use the mtx tranny from the 1st gen neon, what all do i need to make it work for my 04 atx so for i know i need

bell housing (hydro)
master and slave sylinders
03+ pedals
shifter cables
shifter
anything else??????

you won't be able to rev over 4000 rpms, so drive it to the dealer and have them flash the MAGNUM software to your pcm
