Something like this, http://www.tooltopia.com/otc-tools-4572.aspx , would work best, IMO.

That one you linked if for Briggs & Stratton engines.

You know you are gonna have to pressurize the cylinders to keep the valves from dropping, if it's even possible to do this with the head on.

Then you might be able to use the one you posted. Though it'll definitly be a very tight squeeze on the intake valves. The most important thing is that the space between the spring coils is pretty tight, so you'll want one with very thin pieces that slide in the spring.

I've used somthing like this, http://www.tooltopia.com/kd-tools-2078.aspx , but the prong thingies are generally too thick to get into the spring. Some work, some don't.

Here, http://www.millerspecialtools.spx.com/D ... px?id=1278 , is the Chrysler recommended tool (and this adapter, http://www.millerspecialtools.spx.com/D ... spx?id=181 ) . Chrysler specs using this tool and 90-120psi air in the cylinder to remove the springs.

i found this tool on ebay that this guy developed (its not some chinese pos) he includes a video and everything in the listing. I've been seriously considering getting this, even in the video he is working on a "similar" head to ours. i did talk to the guy that makes it and he said this tool can be used to remove valve springs with the head on or off. And like you said use air pressure to keep them closed.

overhead valve heads FTW

This is such an easy job on a SBC, this looks like a PITA on an OHC engine.

Will not work on valves with multi-groove valve stems
FTL!

This is what I used. The rockers need to come off the shafts, or the cam needs to be in to hook to. It was still a PITA, but it worked.

My '01 has multi groove locks. I think that's when they switched. The '01 parts catalog shows multi groove for the ECB, and ECH (magnum) and single groove for the ECB also.
