The guy at my shop told me he was going to replace 4 motor mounts? I'm looking at parts and I only see 2 mounts.

Am I wrong or is there only 2?

2 mounts. Passenger side and transmission.

2 torque struts, upper and lower, that keep the engine from rocking back and forth. These are on the passenger's side and are visible.

So, that would be a total of 4 "mounts". 2 being mounts on the passenger side and the transmission, 2 being lower and upper "torque struts". So I'll just order the set of AGP motor mounts from MPx and a set of the Prothane Motor Mount Inserts from MPx.. If these "Torque Struts" actually end up being broken and not just the inserts, where do I find a good solid pair of these? I dont see MPx having any actual Torque Struts just the AGP mounts.........

So confused.

The AGP mounts and the prothane inserts are both aftermarket options for the two "torque struts"that are visiable on the passenger side. It can get confusing as most people use the names torque struts and motor mounts interchangeably

^i know there are AGP dogbone torque struts for sell on MPX looks pretty good and unbreakable but not sure if they are good or not. I have the prothane insert and the only difference is now it's unbreakable and more vibration is transferred to the car body. It claim that it will help engine to get more wheeltop torque but i don't feel it.[/url]

Solids and inserts are meant to help with wheelhop, traction, and shifting.

I use the AGPs. They come with lots of awesomeness.

With an ATX, you may get by, just replacing the torque struts.

After I beefed up my torque struts, the extra load shifted to the MTX and engine mounts. After a few months they started getting sloppy. This was with 100K + miles. I replaced them, and now all is good.

The passenger side engine mount is fun to change with the engine/trans in car. ;)
