In most cases the hose isn't going anywhere. My only worry about using a sink drain pipe, is they are rather thin. If you over tighten it, the pipe may deform enough to leak/fail. Or if the hose needs replaced, you will destroy the tube getting the hose off. Those plumbing drops are not that expensive tho.

IMO it won't work properly, the metal wouldn't be bent right and would have to sit above the first runner on the intake. If it sat that high (these pipes are angled) it wouldn't meet the water outlet properly. You could try it, but here's why I don't think it would work:

Mike you'd be better off buying the $9 home depot pipe. Yes I own the JMB pipe and it's not a straight pipe NOR is it available in polished. But I'm not going to argue over the internet over it. $80 vs $9??? Should be a no-brainer and not something to argue about honestly. All I'm saying is spend $9 over $80 and then if it doesn't fit it's no big deal there are other lengths of pipe you can purchase.

I wish I knew about the Home Depot one before I bought mine....$9 compared to $80 plus powdercoating is quite a difference. I would've gone the HD route. Plus you can get the HD one polished and JMB doesn't have that option.

SlvrACR: Yes that's very similar to what I'm using. It's the ONLY clamp I got to work because I mated my JMB to a Perrin hose (my first mistake) which is too large for any T-bolt clamp size made to fit perfectly.

Yea I just saw how much it was and it isnt worth no 80 dollars LOL.

I wasnt trying to argue (if you were pertaining to me LOL) I just couldnt find it on the search. Def gonna go to the hardware store and look around to see what I come up with.

I still say the way the pipe looks in that r/t engine bay looks bad a**. Thats what I would want.

If we can get this at HD, what is the diameter of the steel pipe we are gonna be looking for?

Well, the Home depot pn doesn't work anymore, but all you need to look for is an "S" trap for a sink. You will need to cut part of the bend off, as it is a 180º bend. I don't think they sell the tail piece separate from the trap.

This is basically what you want to look for:

Edit" the most common size is 1.25". IIRC he had to struggle to get the 1.5" one into his hose. Yeah, that didn't sound good. :ky:

The srt guys said get the 1.5 Its a tight fit but less likely to leak.

PN does still work

You would much rather it be tight on there, trust me when I say these pipes are a real pain to get tightened. You're technically adding two more places that the hose can leak.

Samco makes blue hoses, I might have seen black hoses, but I may be mistaken.
