My exhaust setup and a question.

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

My exhaust setup and a question.

I currently have a shorty OBX header with a stainless steel catless "testpipe" and a temporary $20 Cherry Bomb Turbo II muffer, not resonator, to quiet it down a little at least.

Right now it sounds "tinny" at mid-higher rpms but has an awesome idle and low rpm rumble. I think it's the shitty Cherry bomb muffler.

What are some cheapish glasspacks or a good quiet muffler I can use that will retain the deep sound and elimate some of that tinny/raspyness.

I'll eventally install a high-flow cat but I still don't want to use the Cherry Bomb lol.

I'd get a decent muffler for the axle back area. An oval muffler or OEM-styled muffler would really quiet the system down, but give it a solid tone @ idle and WOT.

The Cherry Bomb turbo muffler is oval and sits like the stock one would and it sounds like poop.

Guess you get what you pay for!

Get a Vibrant Streetpower muffler, and get rid of any other glasspacks. It does the job all by itself and has zero rice buzz. Gonna cost you $100 or so though.
