1gn throttle body

Post by gtxtreme19 » Sun Apr 11, 2010 2:06 pm

OK So going super boost and I want to use a 1gn box intake and throttle body.
Do they need modified or direct bolt on anyone know? I tried searching but came up with ungodly results I didn't feel like digging through

as long as it's a SOHC intake manifold it'll bolt to the head fine. obviously the throttle body will bolt to the manifold. not sure about having to mod the cable bracket or anything though.

Yeah that's what I meant is the throttle cable or bracketry.
I know the im will bolt up but im going to be running a blower and Turbo and I just want the TB connected by something other than some pipe and silicone couplers

if you want it for all that then why not just get an srt4 IM & TB. the TB is bigger and the IM is made for boost and it isn't too hard to make the swap i don't think. there was a sticky or thread about it on here somewhere.

the srt intake mani will bolt on but unless your intake side of the head is heavily ported it will loose power from the turbulence of air hitting the lip of the intake. the ports of the srt are way larger.
Yup it definately needs to go lower. If its not scrapeing constantly why you are driving then its not low enough bro.
Im going to have to build a custom box type intake to move the larger part of it away from where my supercharger is going to sit so I dont think the srt im will fit but im not 100% sure yet.
Ill be doing some mock up next week with the blower sitting where it will be mounted if anyone near me has an im they dont mind swinging by with just to check clearances

i don't know if you already have the IM but you can get them made so the TB bolts directly to it = no couplers =

like so..

the only thing i could maybe see is the uncovered part of the cable not being long enough..i don't know enough to say for sure though.

Again I want to mock it up to check any clearance issues before I buy anything!
I think having a 2.4 one might work because of the alt being there im just not 100%
