Hmm. If you want to see if the pcv is cracked at the vc take the hose side off the intake and plug that hole with your thumb while it's running. See if that brings the idle down.

Make sure the intake mani bolts are tight. With that many miles they might have loosened up or the gasket may be bad. (All of that unheard of)

I'm about to run out and try that, since I wont have to tear it apart to see if that's it. For some reason I feel like that PCV valve is the source, but it's fine.

Yep. I'm running out of ideas so I'm throwing out random shit.

EDIT:

Now that I think about it. I took my TPS apart to clean it out. When I put it back together, I put it in like backwards or rotated it too far or something and as soon as I started the car up it had a cel for tps sensor and it was revving. Took it back apart and put it back together differently and haven't had a problem since.

Did you have the TPS apart?

Alright. Tried the thumb thing. It was at 1800-2200 before, then when I had my thumb covering it, it was at. . . . 1800-2200. :( Is there something blatantly obvious I'm missing? Or do I need to replace EVERYTHING?

PISS I missed your edit. Actually, now that you mention it, I had it off / apart to clean it, and it got rotated or some shit when I put it back on. Is there a certain angle or something at which it needs to sit?

I honestly can't remember. It's been since last summer that I took mine off. Just take it apart, rotate it a different way and put it back together. That's what I did till it worked lol.

Then the light came on, and I couldn't clean fast enough. I'm headed out there right meow.

Guess what? You were right, basically. Although it didn't fix the issues here. It's supposed to turn, right? Like the TPS should have some resistance? Because mine sorta...doesn't. I'm thinking I need a new one.

It does that, for about half a turn. Then it sorta gets stuck or stops. Then it does that all over again, from that position. I have a feeling it's shot. I'm gonna be so pissed if I go get a new one and that's not the issue.

Thanks. I work 11-7 tomorrow, most likely Saturday, and 11-7 on Sunday as well. So I get to drive the car through this haggard state until Monday :(

Well see how it has the bowtie type recess you can put the "shaft" in the recess 2 different ways if you understand what I am testing to say... easier to show you. I would come over if I had spare time but im busy till Monday

Funny. I, too, am busy until Monday

Yeah. I was out there doing it at 11:15 tonight, so I was sorta half-ass testing and mounting. I know that there are the two recessed areas to mount it, I just need to make sure I'm actually trying two different ways instead of doing the same thing over and over and over.

At least now there is hope that my TPS isn't shot.

Yeah. It's an ATX one that I put my throttle shaft and plate into, thus making it another MTX one. When I had them apart and side by side, they are identical. Only difference is the cable bracket things and the dovetail on the plate.

Well, usually I'd follow up with something like "it's the thought that counts," but my car is still stalled in the middle of the driveway and I've got 20+ hours of work to make it to this weekend.

No sir. My OE TB was like, broken and some junk. The spot where the TPS sensor mounted was cracked and missing pieces and shit. Once I got it apart and got all the stripped screws and shit out of it, it was like a little hunk o' haggard plastic. I promptly slammed it on the ground.

Hey, while were discussing problems. I came across a backwards "b" in a post on this site. Can anyone tell me how they did that??
