Well.....a buddy of mine uses one of those Turbo brand mufflers from Autozone and just stuck a plain tip on it. Looks stock. It's a sideways oval muffler, so Idk if they make ones with dual outlets or not, but it sounds EXTREMELY similar to your R&D setup.
ATX isn't helping your sound....

Ive heard the Camaro Magnaflow before on a 1st gen. Sounded pretty nice for a cheap fix. I have some stock RT tips if you need any to weld on there.

my car has the camaro magnaflow with the R\T tips welded on so it looks like a stock R\T setup.
i love the way it sounds, real deep not raspy not too loud

Thanks Chris, I DO know how to use search and I did. I didn't really find anything of use to me. Without decent sound clips "It sounds good" is pretty worthless.
Sean - the auto doesn't help but the Thermal R&D sounded awesome on my car...
Dos - I saw your thread with your setup but I wish I could find a decent sound clip of that muffler. I don't want it to drone. I'm thinking the Dynomax Super Turbo or possibly the Magnaflow. I just need to get something done fast because my car sounds like complete shit, gives me headaches, and attracts way too much police attention. Hell I was pulled over yesterday morning for a bs traffic stop.

Basically any decent oem v6 or v8 camaro muffler will be louder than stock on our cars. They were designed to be used with resonators, so without the complete system they are loud. IDK if you heard mine at Carlisle or not, but it isn't extremely loud, as I have a resonator in the mid pipe, but it does not drone either. It only starts to be audible in the cabin at speeds above 68 to 70 mph, or if going past half throttle. It is a Walker Quiet Flow - V6 Camaro oem replacement. 2.25 inlet/dual 2.00 outlet, IIRC.
I think the V8 muffler is 2.5 in/2.25 out.
Without the resonator, it is a bit louder. It crackles and pops nicely on decel. A popcorn popper comes to mind.

I have two moroso spiral flow mufflers in my midpipe so it should quiet it down a little bit, but it is 2.5" piping so it will be a bit loud no matter what. Unfortunately I didn't get to hear it. I should've paid more attention to peoples setups then...

Pssh, there is so much going on, you can't possibly take everything in.
Unfortunately, I have no good way to get you a sound clip.

^I agree. Usually when the cars are running... we're all driving together so it's impossible to hear someone elses car properly.

if you loved the thermal, you wil love the flowmaster even more. i have had both with one spiral flow and a lth. the thermal was way raspier than the flowmaster.

Well I just ordered the Dynomax Super Turbo muffler, tips, 90* bends, and the axle to muffler piece.

my bottom end got punched in the face until i went back to 2.25 inch piping after the cat. Atx's suck with too little back-pressure, keeps them in the 2000-2500 rpm range all time when driving, which is the drone zone, lol

^Yeah man, I noticed that too.. Low end torque seemed to drop off some too. Idk, it's all a load of fail.

I can only recommend the magnaflow camaro muffler, but the price seems to have gone up since I bought mine.
If you have an aftermarket header then it's a different story. A LTH will make it raspy and sound a little ricey.

I have a Magnaflow on mine, and I love it.
Has a slight rumble to it, BUT it does NOT drone, and it is quiet at highway speeds.
I have never once gotten unwanted attention from the police with this exhaust.

Those are the Aluminized versions, they also have them in Stainless.
It seems they have these available, both WITH, and also WITHOUT, a resonator.
My system currently does not have the resonator, and it's still fairly quiet.
If you are running an ATX, I would Highly recommend the resonator, since those seem to spend more time in the "drone zone".
