i seen that but what doesnt make sense is that the inlet in the pics is bigger then the out let from all the pics and the outlet steps down . but what lost me was it said no modifaction need. isnt the exhaust pipe 2.00 or 2.25
here another one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT
i think the outlet is for the resonator maybe?

Stock exhaust is 2.25" in every PL car except the ULEV ones, which were 2.0" IIRC. You get what you pay for with no-name parts, especially when it comes to fitment, regardless of what they claim.

why even bother, you dont gain anything but maybe 2 hp and a shit load of noise from deleting the cat. if you are on a budget, just take a broom handle and knock all the material out of the stock cat.

i understand. but around here if i go to the shop for inspection and the city inspector show up like they do from time to time then the car must go up on the rack and if the inspector see that the o2 is not in the pipe the right way then ill fail and would have to buy a new cat. this way if i fail i will have the factory cat and can switch them out. and yes i am going for more exhaust sounds since i dont have a resonator and the car dont sound that loud now.

Be warned, all of the ebay downpipes have the 02 bungs in dumb positions. The one will hit the undercarriage, and you can't screw it in. The other will point downward and hit the ground.
I like mine aside form that. I have one with a flex pipe which my oem one did not have. Also, the stainless is nice in rusty areas...nvm you're in CALI

do you have the one with just flex pipe or does yours have a resonator too?
does anyone know where i can get a good down pipe at about the same price as the ones up top?

Why not just take the stock cat off..cuut the cat off the pipe and have a shop weld a exhaust pipe in for replacement where u just cut the cat off..that way later on if you need too u can get the cat welded back on.
It'll be cheaper and probably easier. Oo and just have then weld a 02 sensor bung in there so u can place your 02 sensor into it.

I got this one because it was cheaper than replacing my clogged cat, lulz. It doesn't even have a resonator, just a flex pipe
It tapers down to 2.25 inch at the end. For an n/a Neon, I think this one would be the best choice because it retains back pressure/exhaust velocity/whatever and you don't have to worry about welding in a new flex pipe since the one you listed doesn't have one.

Just leave the stock cat in there, it flows almost as good as a test pipe, especially for NA applications. Wait until you have a good reason to change it out, not just for the hell of it. And it's not going to be a good change in noise, catless 2.0's sound like shit.

Meh, it doesn't sound too bad with it gone. Its mainly the 2-3k rpm range that gets pretty raspy.
It sounds much better when you swap in high compression pistons though

Not on my car. It sounded fine 2-3k. Closer to 8k is when it got raspy and makes you go deaf.

Free revving vs under a load is going to make a difference in sound also.

Trust me, it gave me a headache either way. Driving was worse because of the constant drone.

Oh, I never doubted you. An SRT rear section/31" glass pack is bad enough for me, and that's with the cat.

Borla header, catless downpipe, side exit right under driver door, no muffler. Horrible lol

well i dont have the header and i do have a muffler exit from the rear. i was just trying to get rid of the cat and add a resontor to quiet it a little but still make the muffler louder.
would the glass pack help any?
